Real Testimonies: Gloria Cabrera, "Praying for My Loved Ones"

I was born in a non-Christian family in Korea. I started going to church when I was about 9 years old, and I was very devoted to God at a very young age. Particularly, God put a burning passion in me for the salvation of my family. When I was in high school, I prayed for my entire family for hours and hours. I don’t know why I always cried so much whenever I prayed for my family. In addition, my parents didn’t like the fact that I was so involved with church activities. So, whenever I came home from church, they harshly persecuted me. They even locked me in my room so that I couldn’t go to the church retreat. In the end, God is always good and faithful, and he heard my cries and prayers. My dad started going to church, and then my mom. Recently, my sister has become very devoted to prayer and evangelism. My brother used to go to church and had an encounter with God. So, my entire family was introduced to the gospel. Not only my immediate family, but also my extended family started converting to Christianity from Buddhism. Even my aunt who used to be very harsh to another Christian aunt became a sincere Christian always telling other relatives about God. I have seen God’s saving work in me and in others. He is still saving people all around us. God will save our families and friends as we plant seeds and patiently wait on the harvest.
